Back 4 Blood - Mom's Powerful Belgian Tank

This is my shotgun build that centers on "The Belgian" double-barreled shotgun secondary weapon. I call it "Mom's Powerful Belgian Tank", because it is a high-damage, tanking, self-recovery shotgun build that fights in melee range.

Introduction

This is my shotgun build that centers on "The Belgian" double-barreled shotgun secondary weapon. I call it "Mom's Powerful Belgian Tank", because it is a high-damage, tanking, self-recovery shotgun build that fights in melee range.

Because this build uses "The Belgian", it is recommended you start with Mom so you can acquire this weapon immediately, or you can ask another player who is Mom to trade/give you her weapon.

--------------------------------------------------

"The Belgian" is an extremely high-damage double-barreled shotgun, but has wide pellet spread, short range and slow reload, so this build will not only make use of its advantages but also turn its disadvantages into benefits.

The short range and large pellet spread of "The Belgian" will mean that we will need to go up close to fight when using this weapon, so that as many pellets as possible can hit the target. Going up close is dangerous, which is why this deck uses cards that boost Trauma Resistance, add extra Health and give the player Temporary Health when doing damage and killing enemies.

The starting Unlimited Ammo card (Ammo Stash) and multiple Reload Speed cards will allow the player to focus on continuously fighting instead of worrying about ammo or reloading; since the "Ammo Stash" card also reduces Reload Speed, the next 2 cards will boost the Reload Speed to compensate.

The 4th card will boost Damage and Move Speed when firing, so that the player can pace themselves to acceptable range to take advantage of the subsequent cards and also allow for non-stop shooting while moving, instead of sprinting due to the reduction in Stamina Efficiency caused by the 5th card.

The 6th to 8th cards will focus on helping the player fight and survive at melee range, giving the player Temporary Health when doing damage and killing Ridden. The Temporary Health given will grant the player Damage Resistance with the 8th card. The player can remain fighting at melee range without needing to pause and retreat to heal, just like a melee-weapon user.

The 9th card will boost Reload Speed even more, giving the player higher DPS, and the reduction in Damage Resistance is already compensated for by the previous card "Numb".

The 10th and 11th cards will grant extra damage with shots, and give the shots Bullet Penetration, allowing for rapid horde-clearing capabilities. The 5 Copper loss when killing Mutations is insignificant by the time you can draw this card, so there is no need to worry about it at this point.

The 12th card will add more Damage Resistance and Health, helping the player survive longer and take more damage as a tank fighting on the front-line of battle. Since the player is already fighting at melee range, disabling ADS doesn't cause a disadvantage in the fight.

The 13th to 15th cards will boost Health and Trauma Resistance, but also reduce Ammo Capacity. However, the 1st card already grants unlimited ammo, allowing the player to use these final cards without worry about ammo supply.

Recommended Play Style

Since the player needs to go up close- at melee range- to make full use of this deck, all the cards above provide the necessary tanking and damage capabilities to allow them to fight effectively. The player should time their shots properly, because the gun needs to be reloaded after each shot, so make them count. Focus on getting pellets to penetrate as many Ridden as possible so that each shot reaches its highest damage potential.

The player should use Bash often while fighting, which can stumble Ridden, allowing time for proper positioning to take advantage of bullet penetration (lining up Ridden so that pellets can penetrate), as well as getting within safe but required range (within 2 meters) to kill Ridden and get the Temporary Health boost and accompanied Damage Resistance from the complementary card.

The attachments for "The Belgian" should focus on Move Speed and Bullet Stumble, the former complementing the 4th card "Rolling Thunder", allowing you to move fast while firing non-stop with the added Reload Speed from other cards and the Unlimited Ammo you have; the latter attachment's stat, Bullet Stumble, can make Mutations (special Ridden) stumble especially when they take a full shot at melee range, giving you the safety to fight up close.

Conclusion

With this deck of cards, "The Belgian" shotgun and a proper play style for this build, a player can expect to fight at the front-line of any battle alongside a melee-weapon user while getting the added advantage of longer range, bullet penetration and massive damage.

With a rapid Reload Speed, Unlimited Ammo, high base Damage, high added Damage, high base Bullet Penetration, high added Bullet Penetration, Temporary Health on hits and kills, Damage Resistance while having Temporary Health, high Trauma Resistance, high Health and incredible horde-clearing capability and Stumble power, the player will become an extremely powerful tank that can handle any fight well- both normal and special Ridden, singles and hordes.
